Network Administrator
The Division of Legislative Automated Systems, a technology support agency of the Virginia General Assembly, is seeking a Network Administrator with a minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience. The successful candidate must be able to provide leadership and expertise in defining network needs, managing existing network topology, designing network solutions, and configuring network devices. Excellent communication skills are required to work with a wide range of professionals including application programmers, web developers, agency management, and end user clientele. The position manages a small core of desktop and server technicians as well as being part of the agency management team.
The candidate must have proven experience configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, and wireless controllers. Significant experience in a VMware server farm environment running Windows-based operating systems is essential including ability to manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and IIS processes.
Other responsibilities include hardware and software evaluation and procurement, VoIP implementation, backup and restore strategy, Disaster Recovery and COOP readiness.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an information systems discipline or equivalent work experience and training. Five (5) years of current experience in network management, administration, and support in a multi-user environment. A proven record of successful implementation of networking objectives within an information systems organization. Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco networking and security hardware and software.
